My fiancé and I did two separate tours through “Tours 4 tips” in Santiago. It was our first time visiting Chile, and these walking tours were awesome!! The first tour was with Vincent, and he was definitely our favorite! The morning tour with Vincent was “off the beaten path” and shows tourists the life of a Chilean. We learned a lot about the history of Santiago, and we saw some incredible markets. In addition, the cemetery in Santiago was really interesting. I’ve never seen a cemetery like it! Vincent was the best tour guide we had during our time in Chile and Argentina! He was very personable, fun, and energetic. Fun time!
The afternoon walking tour was with Carlos. He was great!! We also learned a lot about the history of Santiago. I would highly recommend doing both walking tours in Santiago! You won’t regret it.
Camilla was our guide and she was excellent. She was friendly, informative and passionate about the history and city of Santiago. She was the best tour guide we had on our trip through Argentina and Chile. Our tour included the markets and the cemetery and very interesting.
We were exposed to this type of tour (excellent) in Sydney two years ago and took both the morning tour with Vincent (markets, food, smells and the cemetery)and the afternoon tour with Natalie (I hope I got the spelling right) about keys sights and politics. Both were informing, engaging and honest.
We got the perspective of the intellectuals of the young generation (although we would have to hear also science/technology/health young people) about political and economic realities in Chile and we loved hearing how much they care (even if do not always agree with the way they see the future).
We did the Offbeat Santiago tour on our first full day. It was a great intro to the city and we saw quite a few sites that we may not have seen otherwise. It was also a great intro to the metro system. Our tour guide, Vincent, gave us some great recommendations for dishes to try at the fish market after our tour. Well worth the tip! We liked it so much that we did the city highlights tour a few days later.
